‘My 600-lb Life’: Food helped Seana cope with her dad’s abuse, now she feels like ‘a monster walking around’

Tonight’s episode of ‘My 600-lb Life’ showcases Seana Collin’s story who at the age of 22 weighs over 600 pounds. She finds it hard to walk and even stand for a few minutes and is upset about losing her independence as her mobility is only reducing by the day.

Seana needs to push herself to even take a bath every day and get it over with. She hates her body more than anything in the whole world and feels like a monster walking around. Disgusted with her appearance, she has reached a point where she can’t stop eating and wouldn’t, as it hs become the best part of her day.

She’s taken care of by Derricus. Although he tries to help her as much as he can, he feels helpless as she can’t control her eating habits, which has now turned toxic. However, Seana says food makes her happy no matter how sad she is.

Seana had a hard life growing up which was always full of chaos. She eats to forget about everything she has been through.

In tonight’s episode, she reveals that her father ill-treated her mother and physically abused her a lot. Her mother Cricket says Seanna’s relationship with her father was traumatizing.

However, her mother wasn’t aware of her father’s behavior for a long time and that’s when Seana turned to food to cope with it. By the time she was eight, she weighed over 150 pounds.

Although her mother chose to walk out of the relationship and moved to a new city, her father insisted on spending summers with Seanne, during which she continued to be subjected to his abuse.

Her constant eating led to further weight gain and Seana was over 200 pounds by the time she was 10. When kids at school started making fun of her owing to her enormous frame, she felt isolated. Food became her only friend and she weighed over 400 pounds by the time she was 15.

Cricket got Seana admitted to the hospital for mental health assistance when bullying got worse and she decided to end her life.

Nevertheless, her dependency on food kept increasing despite counseling and now she has hit the downward spiral. Seana says she wants to fix her life before it becomes too late.
